The sporty Vanguard range was introduced to the world in 2013, and despite being younger than the flagship ranges Cintrée Curvex™ and Long Island, it has rapidly risen and created its own niche. The latest additions to the collection, which includes a variety of materials including carbon, bronze and titanium, are two limited-edition watches in India to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the brand’s retailer partner Kapoor Watch Company in the industry and the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.
Unveiled in New Delhi last week by brand ambassador Ranveer Singh, the two limited-edition timepieces include the limited steel gold Vanguard and the limited rose gold watch. In true Vanguard style, the watch features a 45mm tonneau case piece with a green dial and oversized appliquéd hour markers. The case is polished, and both versions have a map of India engraved on the case back. The date window is at 6 o’clock with black numerals opposite white numerals. The watch is flanked by a green alligator leather strap with rubber inlays. Beating inside is the FM 800-DT self-winding movement with a 42-hour power reserve and a 4 Hz frequency.

“Collaboration, research and development started two years ago with discussions on design, size and aesthetics,” Raunaq Kapoor, director of Kapoor Watch Company, explains the collaboration with Franck Muller. “Furthermore, the approval of the Indian map by the government also started at the same time as these projects take a while to work.”
