Blancpain recently added several new options to its “Villeret” series, including stainless steel and gold straps and straps or bracelets. Well, if none of these changes caught your attention, they have now released the new “Blancpain Villeret Extraplate Premium Edition”. This is the first time the Villeret model uses a green dial, and the effect is very attractive.
The 40mm case is made of 18k gold and is only 8.7mm thick. This makes it an ideal dress watch for daily use and close to zero wrist fatigue. Mounted on the case is a stepped bezel, which brings a subtle sense of size and depth to the overall appearance.
On the back, we came across the sapphire crystal glass back cover, you can view the internal structure of the mechanical movement. It is equipped with a golden rotor decorated with a honeycomb pattern. In addition, the brand logo and the unique number of each boutique edition are engraved on the sides of the case. All crowns are made of sapphire crystal, which is water resistant up to 30 meters (96 feet).
The time is displayed on the green dial, which has a sunlit effect and is beautifully framed in an 18k gold case while providing a background for matching golden Roman numerals. Just like the previously updated “Ultraplate” model, this premium version removes the word “auto” that usually appears in the lower half of the dial, and reduces the font size of the brand logo in the upper half.
It also includes less obvious mods obtained by placing the classic Villeret Roman numerals V, VI, VII and VIII vertically. The central leaf-shaped hand is also hollowed out, and the initials of Blancpain founder JB are added to the central second hand. There is also an inclined date hole at 3 o’clock.
The “Blancpain Villeret Extraplate Premium Edition” (Ref#: 6651-1453-55A) is powered by an internal self-winding mechanical movement. Movement 1150 has 28 jewels, 210 components and 21,600 vph. The power reserve of this watch can be up to 100 hours.
