Greubel Forsey Signature 1 Limited Edition Steel Blue (US) and Red Gold Watch

This article is two versions of the limited edition Greubel Forsey Signature 1 watch, which we originally made our debut here in early 2016. As you may remember, Signature 1 is the cheapest watch currently produced by Greubel Forsey.

Greubel Forsey is made of steel. My understanding is that this watch will represent a limited edition. The blue watch is one of the stainless steel models.

It may be worth mentioning that travel is an important part of our ability to report these stories. I saw the blue and steel model in Los Angeles, and we photographed the 18k rose gold model in Dubai for the 2016 Dubai Watch Week. I watched an article about 18k white gold models in Geneva before. Sometimes tracking these rare items does require a lot of travel and energy.

Considering the debut of the 18k white gold model Greubel Forsey Signature 1, we now introduce three available Greubel Forsey Signature 1 watches that have been produced, accounting for half of the total production of the series. I am not sure if I have ever seen the platinum version, but it does exist (it has a black dial for the time being). I personally want to see the Signature 1 watch in a scratch-resistant titanium case, which is really interesting to me, because it can also be finished according to Greubel Forsey standards.

I would say that Greubel Forsey Signature 1 is the easiest watch of the brand I wear on my wrist. In the past, when you think of a watch from an exclusive brand, you think of a round case with a bump inside (it sounds strange). The case of Greubel Forsey Signature 1 is round, traditionally hand-made, but also very finely crafted (for these prices, you certainly hope so). The Greubel Forsey Signature 1 made of stainless steel has the most unique personality. I’m not sure, but this may be the first steel watch produced by Greubel Forsey. At least, this is the first one I remember. In gold, the watch feels more “easy to understand”, but in steel, I think it has more personality-especially considering the theme of the watch.

With a width of 41.4mm and a thickness of only 11.7mm, the Signature 1 may also be the smallest watch made by Greubel Forsey. Having such a mechanically simple and comfortable watch is not something I guessed from that brand a few years ago.

In other words, the pressure of the market and customers on brands such as Greubel Forsey forced them to produce this limited series of watches. Don’t expect these prices or materials to represent the brand, but as a tribute to collectors who need it, you can get packaging and beauty, they have been loved by companies such as Greubel Forsey, and the packaging is richer Convenient to carry on your wrist regularly.

Obviously, this kind of clock can be counted as invisible wealth. Obviously, you are wearing a meticulously crafted mechanical watch, but everyone can isolate it from the crowd except for highly-known watch lovers. If anything, the Signature 1 watch is Greubel Forsey’s answer to “What Greubel Forsey can I wear every day?” Nevertheless, as a fan of the brand’s strong interest in the art of haute horology, other features should not be missed, such as the beauty of the exquisite tourbillon or other complex functions such as the power reserve indicator.

Grobel Fauci Tourbillon 24-second version Historique watch hands-on

Greubel Forsey is one of the celebrities of the highest level of haute horology. The brand is famous for its asymmetrical case, tourbillon and the highest level of finishing. In 2007, Greubel Forsey released the first tourbillon 24 Seconds Asymétrique tourbillon watch. The tourbillon is famous for its asymmetrical case and tilting tourbillon, which rotates once every 24 seconds, hence the name. Today, of the 180 works about ten years later, Greubel Forsey (Greubel Forsey) is bringing down the tourbillon 24 Seconds Asymétrique. But not without cheering for the last time. Therefore, to commemorate one of the brand’s most popular and iconic styles, they announced Greubel Forsey Tourbillon 24 Secondes Edition Historique at SIHH 2017.

Interestingly, the 24-second tourbillon Historique is the second edition of the brand’s history. The first time was in 2010, Greubel Forsey decided to terminate the Double Tourbillon 30°Contemporaine series. The Tourbillon 24 Seconds Edition Tourbillon watch has a real historical version of Historique Edition, with unique features, while other Tourbillon 24 Secondes Online copy watches do not.

First of all, the 24-second tourbillon Historique limited edition is limited to 11 pieces, each in 5N red gold and platinum. The case is 44 mm wide and asymmetrical, extending slightly at 8 o’clock to accommodate the rather large tilting tourbillon. The bezel is quite thick and mirror polished, which makes the dial look smaller than it actually is. The side of the case has straight lines, and all the finishes are done by hand. It can be clearly seen that there are many words on the side of the dial, which explain in depth the philosophy of Glauber Fauci. The text itself is small and seems decorative from a distance, but is absolutely readable when read at close range. This is indeed an objective design preference issue, but I can’t imagine that this text will not irritate some people.

Although the watch surface has been carefully decorated, it is easy to see that the design has been “dial in”. This means that it is usually Greubel Forsey, and it doesn’t actually offer anything innovative or novel, which is disappointing. This is not to say that I do not appreciate and appreciate the design aspect here. For example, one neat thing about the case is that the side of the case of the asymmetric part has a sapphire display window, which provides the wearer with a side perspective view of the tilted tourbillon. In addition, the two sides of the case are rose gold or platinum plates, engraved with hand-engraved text, highlighting the brand’s watchmaking philosophy. Obviously, this is likely to be a divergent design choice. The sizable crown is also engraved with the raised Greubel Forsey logo. This logo is mediocre and usually does not top the design choices of such brands that I like.

As you would expect from Grebeul Forsey, the dial is pleasant (although, considering our expectations of GF, the dial is nothing special). The dial has a lot of depth and detail and is made of pure gold. From a distance, half of the red gold dial looks silver and the other half black. The dial is indeed silver, but the dark part is actually a disc engraved with sapphires, expressing the brand’s philosophy. On platinum models, the silver part of the dial is made of anthracite.

There is a battery indicator at 2 o’clock in the form of a simple pointer, with a rotating disk below. Between 5 o’clock and 6 o’clock, there is an auxiliary seconds indicator, which is also displayed in the form of a pointer and a rotating disc below. This way of displaying power reserve and running seconds is unique to the 24-second tourbillon Historique.

Other notable details on the dial are the hands and hour markers. They are all refined from pure gold and have an interesting black treatment to make them stand out on the silver hour ring and dial to improve clarity. On platinum models, the pure gold hands and hour markers are mirror-polished to contrast with the anthracite dial.

Of course, at 8 o’clock, you will see the highlights of this tourbillon replica watch. The tourbillon is inclined at an angle of 25 degrees and rotates once every 24 seconds. The entire tourbillon assembly is composed of 88 parts, and the cage is made of titanium. Titanium is used because it is very light (0.39 grams), so it requires less torque and consumes less energy for rotation.

The appearance of the fast spinning tourbillon is also very exciting. The entire assembly is beautifully decorated, with prominent bevels and different finishes. For example, the tourbillon bridge is made of steel and is barrel polished. Below the tourbillon is a black PVD-coated titanium platform with a polished surface.

Turn the dial to see the vast sapphire display box and display the movement in all its glory. Finishing is Greubel Forsey’s specialty. Although most of the movement is hidden under the bridge, there are still many things to appreciate and appreciate. For example, all bridges have a unique matte effect and extremely obvious polished slopes. The jewelry is slightly dome-shaped and placed in gold diamonds with polished countersunk holes. There is a lot of admiration for this movement.

All in all, the 24-second tourbillon Historique is the perfect farewell to Greubel Forsey’s iconic 24-second asymmetric series. It has the unique design elements of this model, and the craftsmanship is exquisite, and it has the exquisite processing level that we expect Greubel Forsey can achieve.
