Greubel Forsey Signature 1 Limited Edition Steel Blue (US) and Red Gold Watch
This article is two versions of the limited edition Greubel Forsey Signature 1 watch that we first launched here in early 2016. As you may remember, Signature 1 is the cheapest watch currently produced by Greubel Forsey.
Greubel Forsey will produce a total of 66 Signature 1 watches, 33 of which are made of steel. My understanding is that these 66 watches will represent 6 smaller limited editions. The blue watch is one of the stainless steel models and is an American exclusive watch-again limited edition. I also want to share images of the 18k gold model.
Considering the debut of the 18k white gold model Greubel Forsey Signature 1, we now introduce three available Greubel Forsey Signature 1 watches that have been produced, accounting for half of the total production of the series. I am not sure if I have ever seen the platinum version (which does exist) (it has a black dial for now). I personally would love to see the Signature 1 watch in a scratch-resistant titanium case, which is really interesting to me, because it can also be completed according to Greubel Forsey’s standards.
I would say that Greubel Forsey Signature 1 is the easiest watch of the brand I wear on my wrist. In the past, when you think of watches from exclusive brands, you think of a round case with a bump inside (it sounds strange). The case of Greubel Forsey Signature 1 is round, traditionally polished, but also very finely crafted (for these prices, you certainly hope so). Greubel Forsey Signature 1 made of stainless steel has the most unique personality. I’m not sure, but this may be the first steel watch produced by Greubel Forsey. At least, this is the first one I remember. In gold, the watch feels more “easy to understand”, but in steel, I think it has more personality-especially considering the theme of the Online fake watch.
With a width of 41.4mm and a thickness of only 11.7mm, the Signature 1 may also be the smallest watch made by Greubel Forsey. The price is usually more than $500,000. The inside of Signature 1 is the caliber GFS1 carefully crafted by Greubel Forsey. The manual winding movement is made of 190 parts working at a speed of 2.5Hz (18,000bph) with a 12.6mm wide balance wheel under the carefully designed balance wheel bridge. The movement has a 54-hour power reserve. The dial layout is attractive and requires extensive visual inspection. The hour and minute hands are clearly displayed on its off-center dial, while the seconds dial is smaller but clearly legible, closer to the exposed view of the balance wheel. Below the balance wheel is Didier JG Cretin’s name, the brand has worked with him to make watches. Collaboration to place reminders on the dial in this way is rare, but I think collectors will find it interesting.
The appearance of the overall dial is the biggest asset of the overall design, clear, beautiful and mechanically interesting. In addition, live comfortably together every day.
