Breitling Premier Bentley Mulliner celebrates Swiss craftsmanship and British aesthetics

Breitling and Bentley continue their long-standing partnership with the launch of the Breitling Premier Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition. To mark seventeen years of cooperation, the release of the new chronograph marks the longest-running collaboration between a watch company and an automaker.

Built to celebrate the Bentley Continental GT Convertible Mulliner Edition, the Breitling Premier Bentley Mulliner combines Swiss craftsmanship with British design. The details of the chronograph refer to the interior details of the Mulliner Convertible, especially the Breitling clock on the car’s dashboard.

The 42mm stainless steel case of the Premier Bentley Mulliner is paired with a blue alligator leather strap to complement the Imperial Blue interior of the Bentley Continental GT Convertible Mulliner Edition. Featuring a blue, red and white colour palette, this watch pays homage to British design. The elegant brushed silver dial is set under Breitling’s signature anti-reflective sapphire crystal, reflecting the face of the car’s dashboard clock, with blue subdials; 20-minute counter at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock Small seconds subdial. The blue inner bezel of the dial features a white tachymeter scale with a red tachymeter inscription.

Another nod to the co-design DNA of Breitling and Bentley is reflected in the Arabic numerals on the dial, which reference the numerals of the dash clock in the Mulliner Convertible. A red second hand and a central 60-minute scale surrounding the subdial further reflect the red stitching inside the car.

Turning your gaze to the side of the case, you will find the nameplate engraved with the words “Bentley”; a design element based on the rotating instrument panel of the engine of the historic Bentley car.

Breitling’s Historic 2022 Navitimer Collection Launches With 13 Dial Options Watch fans are always willing to have some good debate, so when the topic of when the iconic Breitling Navitimer will launch is always on the switch, you know you’ve been involved for a long time. If you listen to the brand, the iconic aerotimer dates back to 1952, but some adherents are quick to point out that the aerotimer moniker didn’t exist until 1954. It doesn’t matter to Breitling, who are celebrating a birthday with Watches & Wonders 2022 launching a stunning collection of watches to commemorate the line’s controversial 70th anniversary. Available in 13 dial options, the new 2022 Breitling Navitimer Chronograph is now officially available.

Originally designed by Willy Breitling, the Classic Chronograph collection has successfully traversed the aviation world and is ringing in the hearts of collectors around the world. For the 2022 edition, the Swiss legend takes the Navitimer’s recognizable design language to new heights, with improvements to the circular slide rule, stick hour markers, three counters and a notched bezel. The results are subtle to the naked eye, but peering more closely at the watch, you’ll immediately notice the fluidity of the aesthetic. If anyone has ever criticized aviation timekeeping, it’s simply that the dial is too busy. This time around, Breitling has revamped its lineup of 46mm, 43mm or 41mm case sizes, giving the dial more room to breathe.

This concept of playing with space is also continued through form function, with flat slide rules and domed crystals giving the illusion of a more compact silhouette. Add in a slimmer profile on the oscillating weight and you somehow manage to turn a heavy piece of kit into a sharp and streamlined modern chronograph. Inside, it’s even more so. Visible through the open caseback, the COSC-certified Breitling in-house calibre 01 is the true beating heart of an aviation chronograph. With a 70-hour power reserve, this movement is essentially the automatic version used in the recent Navitimer Re-Edition.

With 70 years of history, you can be forgiven for being cautious about your legacy, but Breitling seems to be boldly sprinting in every direction at once. The new 2022 Navitimer collection features a variety of dial options including Emerald Green, Blue, Mint Green, Copper Silver and Black Panda, with a choice of two stainless steel or 18 karat red gold case materials and a variety of straps, and is a custom collector’s choice Dream, ask Georges Kern, CEO of the Swiss brand.

“We don’t use the word ‘icon’ lightly,” Kern said. “The Aviation Chronograph is one of the most recognizable watches of all time. It is on collectors’ lists of the greatest watches of all time. Originally a tool for pilots, it is now important to everyone who owns this timepiece on a personal journey. people have profound meaning.”
