Breitling pays tribute to the history of aviation with its new Super AVI series of watches, inspired by the “Co-Pilot” Ref. 765 AVI pilot watch in 1953 and four legendary aircraft: North American Airlines P-51 Mustang, Vought F4U Corsair, Curtiss P -40 Warhawk and de Havilland Mosquito.
In the 1930s, Breitling’s Huit Aviation division was famous for inventing precision cockpit clocks in the emerging aviation field at the time. Twenty years later, in 1953, Breitling introduced another new type of flight instrument to the world, this time in a wearable form. referee. Five new models
There are five unique versions of the series that pay tribute to the four powerful and memorable airplanes, with their filigree silhouettes adorning the sapphire back of the watch.
– Super AVI P-51 Mustang pays tribute to the best all-around fighter of its era in two different versions: a stainless steel case with a black dial and a gold-brown leather strap, and an 18k red gold version exclusively available from Breitling boutiques and the Breitling website Charcoal gray dial and black leather strap.

– The Super AVI Tribute to Vought F4U Corsair is equipped with a blue dial, a timing counter of the same color and a black leather strap. Its design is inspired by the unique painting of a record-breaking navy aircraft.

The unique design of Super AVI includes large, legible Arabic numerals on the dial and bezel. Its sturdy case measures 46 mm, and its oversized crown is located at 3 o’clock. The knurled bezel provides the best grip, and the calfskin strap stitched on the top pays homage to the seams on the leather flight gear of that era.
Pilots and other travelers will love the ability to track a second time zone using the 24-hour marker on the inner bezel and the red tip GMT pointer. The engine of Super AVI is a COSC-certified Breitling-made B04 movement, which can provide about 70 hours of power reserve.
Although Super AVI reminds us of the days before digital timers, when pilots’ watches were their trusted flying instruments, its robust beauty and long-lasting precision make Super AVI as important as it is today.
A quartet that changed the aviation industry
When the P-51 Mustang was built in just 120 days, even its developer, North American Aviation, did not anticipate how powerful it would be.
